The five-part evidence system
Model, size, material, hardware colour and claimed period
Profile, measurements, panels, handles and stress points
Stitching, edge finish, glazing, lining and closures
Labels, stamps or chips interpreted only in period context
Purchase, condition, repair, replacement and seller trail
Repair-aware inspection
Repair history is neither automatic proof nor automatic suspicion. The useful question is whether the current object and its records tell one disclosed story.
Fresh edge colour can conceal wear or prior cracking. Request the atelier invoice, treated areas and before/after photographs.
A legitimate repair can change colour, finish or date consistency. Record which parts changed and who supplied them.
Appearance may improve while original finish and future resale disclosure change. Ask what products and processes were used.

A repair acceptance or invoice can support a service history, but it is not automatically a transferable authenticity certificate. Read the exact wording.
It can change originality and buyer expectations. Disclose the treated area, provider and date rather than promising a value result.
Yes. A replacement changes the object’s history and may affect configuration, condition and price comparison.
